OUR HISTORY
Apex Bank began in 1931 as the Bank of Camden. After unifying its brands under the Apex Bank umbrella in 2015, the bank experienced tremendous growth. Our ability to adapt and grow has enabled us to respond to changing markets, explore new technologies, and engage in new communities. Throughout each change, our unwavering commitment to customer service and the communities we serve have been our guiding principles.
ACHIEVEMENTS
For a third consecutive year, Apex Bank has been recognized by Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA) as the Top Performing Bank with $300 million to $1 billion in assets in the state of Tennessee and second overall in the nation.
Apex Bank has been ranked by Seifried & Brew’s Top 15th Percentile of Community Banks in the nation, a designation earned by optimally balancing risk and reward.
Banks Street Partners ranks Apex Bank as the top performing community bank in net interest margins and return on average equity in the state of Tennessee.
GIVING BACK
We actively look for opportunities to engage with our communities. The bank supports community organizations through philanthropic work, building strong relationships that promote economic stability and growth.
Apex Pay for Grades – Apex Bank’s “Pay for Grades” program rewards Benton County high school students for their hard work and academic achievements. Since 2012, public high school students in Benton County have received monetary rewards every grading period. This program has provided 9,000 individual rewards totaling over $344,820 to local students.
Apex Player of the Game – Apex Bank partners with 5 Greene County, Tennessee high schools to recognize the hard work student athletes put into their performance. Each week a player is chosen from each school based on their performance stats by their coach. Each school receives a $150 donation on the player’s behalf, presented at the conclusion of the regular football season.
Sonny Melton Scholarship Fund – The Sonny Melton Scholarship Fund was established at Apex Bank to honor the life and legacy of Sonny Melton, a Big Sandy native who was the first identified victim of the Las Vegas tragedy. In order to celebrate Sonny’s life, the scholarship fund was created to assist graduating Big Sandy High School seniors who desire to pursue a career in nursing. To assist in endowing the fund, Apex Bank has committed to match the first $50,000 in private contributions to the fund. For more information about the fund or to donate, please click here.
