In the store’s history it has housed a Justice of the Peace where civil matters, and various kangaroo courts were held under the original Bellamy family. The upstairs housed an occasional body as the store sold funeral supplies and sometimes accommodated familes until time for burial. A resident ghost can sometimes be heard overhead clomping along upstairs in her high heels.
Bellamy new owners Johnny and Teresa Greer have converted the store into an auditorium and stage to showcase some of the best bluegrass in the region. Teresa has a large collection of antiques that you can browse hrough and purchase as the bands are taking a break.
If you are looking for a light-hearted evening of good entertainement, family fun and quality bluegrass bands come to Sugroinsville on the third Saturday night of each month to Bluegrass at Bellamy hardware.
